What I won't do in 2018!

Ok! Briefly let me say this: I never seen myself blogging. It did not seem interesting or cool to go read what a person has to say about their personal life or interest outside of a Facebook, IG post or tweet. Definitely did not see the value in blogging but apparently fans love to read lengthy paragraphs reflecting one's paradigm. So, now let's get to it!

First, here are some things I did in 2017 and even some years back:

1. Chose not to Speak my mind.

For years I was the quiet, passive and submissive person my friends and family knew me to be. This trait cost me money, my self-worth and individuality. It was not until I experienced hard times in 2012 that I evolved into the man I am today.

2. I fulfilled others dreams and not mines.

Couple of things here: I was involved in church ministry since a toddler. Besides women ministry and elders help, I have worked in all departments at my church. Never said no, almost ever. I would take money from my personal expenses to help out my mom. Again I never said no. I invested financially into people. They asked me for a lot and yet again, I didn't say no. And lastly, I listened to people's perceptions of me and followed those patterns. From appearance to resources and much more, I took criticism and became what they said of me.

3. I settled.

I was back and forth with stopping and starting back up my talents. Never unraveling my full potential and it began to bother me. Rapping for me began from childhood but seriously took off after eighth grade. Almost got a deal and a music video but my parents got in the way. Dance was in me from a child also. I would dance only when no one was home or if the music was loud enough to not be heard moving my feet or falling. I was introduced to krump in Summer 2009. Danced one year and had to leave my dance 'fam' to take college serious. Over the next eight years I would struggle over and over to continue grooming my abilities and skills. Until know..

Now to why I really wrote this blog:

I have decided after all of the tears, hurt, pain, disappointment, depression, stress and insufficient funds that in 2018 I will not sleep. Until my artistic ecosystem is complete with a circulating residual income and established following in the South Florida area, I will not rest. 'Jack of all Trades, master of none' is a famous line that has haunted me. All the talents displayed on my site will be strengthen daily and the people will see. South Florida, particularly Homestead is going to have a rekindled love for local arts and talents. Which leads to my next point - I will not be quiet. Motivational, evangelical and political stances will be taken with the intent to encourage, inform and charge listeners and viewers to be like Dodge and 'grab life by the horns.' Finally, I will not look down. Keeping my head up and looking to the hills from which comes my help is who I have become. I am praying for a new level of confidence.

I hope you will follow me on this journey till the end.
